Booker Edwards Jr. does an amazing job emphasizing how to establish or reestablish yourself as an artist or musician, to many ways external instruments can help you towards your work flow.

I found this to be an excellent course. Everything is explained very clearly with plenty of graphics and videos to show exactly how to set things up. I have a nice old (mint) Roland SC-88ST Pro sound module that has been sitting on a shelf that I've wanted to put to good use and now I have the tools to do just that. Thanks, Booker, for a great course. I also bought the advanced course, #114, I believe and it is excellent as well...picks up where this course leaves off. Well done, thanks!!

I have been using Logic with external midi since the Atari days and have over the years absorbed the changes in midi modules and in logic itself. Recently I have started to integrate my old equipment back into my composing process and I found this course to be really refreshing. Some stuff I knew already, but I also found new approaches via Logic x which I will be able to use. Really well constructed course. I watched it all from start to finish. Clear, concise and accurate. Thank you.

Logic Pro X 113: External MIDI Basics has been a great supplemental tool for my current college course which involves using MIDI sample library instruments for creating cues. This is entry-level MIDI knowledge in comparison to how complex some MIDI programming can become. This course covered the foundations of MIDI in Logic Pro X, while including a section on using Maschine within Logic / DAW. I learned some things I didn't know before, and overall, the time I put into this should come back to me given the new information that I have to work with.
