If you are interested in knowing what Alchemy can do beyond being a standard synthesizer, this is the course to take. Honestly, I will probably never use 80% of the techniques explored in this course. Physical modeling? I'd rather use Sculpture. FM synthesis? Retro Synth or the EFM1 are more straightforward. Nonetheless, I love how David raises your awareness of the possibilities buried in Alchemy. In particular, the stuff on Spectral and Additive Synthesis did actually have me thinking, 'ok, I might get useful sounds from these techniques'. The possibilities for creating interesting soundscapes with the Morph Pad is another big takeaway. More generally, David sheds light on what spectral synthesis, granular synthesis, additive synthesis and formants actually are! (Still can't claim to fully 'get' spectral or granular though, but I can sound like I know what I'm talking about by using 'grains' and 'bins' in the right context). Cheers for this course, David. It was a fun 2 hours.

The course as good, but there's still a lot I don't understand about this synth.

Excellent! A lot of good ideas for creating your own music rather than just showing what all the knobs do.
