Hello... this message is for anyone very familiar with both Logic 8 and ProTools. I�m currently taking Record Production courses at MIW here in Chicago, which focuses on ProTools. I have Logic 7 and recently upgraded to L8. I have completed the MPV Logic 101 and recently purchased Mbox2 Mini so I can get a better handle on ProTools for class. I�m currently studying the Mastering ProTools video but have a question I need answered as soon as possible: In L8, is there a way to re-record a software instrument track on to an audio track (so I can transfer it/them to ProTools)? I asked some instructors at school and they said i need to change the outputs of the software inst. track so it will input to an audio track, then record it onto the audio track, which I haven't found a way to do yet. None of them actively use Logic so I�m stuck. Any advice/help greatly appreciated. Hello... I purchased the Ultrabeat tutorial and went through it some time ago, but since then my schedule's been a little hectic and I'm just now getting back to it... My question: I remember seeing on one of the videos how to copy a sound from one of the UB kits into another UB kit, but i can't remember where i saw it. Can someone tell me what section it's in, as I'm not having success at finding it. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello again forum... Question: Is there a way to quickly take a select voice in a UB kit (like a hi hat or crash) and spread it all across the keyboard ascending in pitch (like the preset bass and other "melodic" sounds already programmed in the upper ranges of the keys in UB), or do I have to copy & paste to each key and alter each pitch myself?

Thanks for the responses... so far I've only used the EXS 24 for its samples. I do have the tutorial but haven't gotten into it yet but plan to in the near future. For now I'll try the 'not so long as it could be' method suggested by Rounik. Thanks again to both Rounik and YADJ.

Hello again everyone... Can someone please tell me how to find/view tracks for Aux channels I created with UB and or EXS 24 (i.e. i have a separate aux track for a snare in the EXS but can't find the track in Arrange window so I can edit it in the Piano Roll window. Thanks for any responses.

Hello... I got carried away on a project and am maxing out my processor on my MacbookPro, and now need to bounce several tracks to a stereo audio track (already tried freezing tracks but the system still keeps locking cause of the processor). I used to know how to do this but I’m forgetting something... I need to be able to bounce the tracks to another stereo track so it lines up with all the other tracks, so i can mute some and use others with everything staying in sync. I know there’s a few ways to do this but I’m spacin’ right now. Can anyone help me out? Any responses greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I've been using the Ableton Live 8 free demo for a couple of days and have the MPV Live 7 tutorial, am considering buying Live 8 to complement my Logic 8, but with the new L9 out now, I have a couple questions... if anyone can answer from experience w/L9 I'd greatly appreciate it. 1) During a live performance, while playing a keyboard live along with programmed bass and drums in Logic 9 for example, does Mainstage 2 allow you to jump to another selection on the fly like in Ableton Live, keeping in sync with the current tempo unless otherwise programmed? (i.e., playing a chorus or vamp as long as you want to, then going to a verse when you're ready)? 2) Does the L9 upgrade from L8 also correct/update any missing sound files (a problem I've been dealing with for some time, even after re-booting & re-installing L8)? Any responses greatly appreciated, esp. since I'm about to lay out $$$ for Live 8, but now L9 might be the way to go. I'm even willing to forego "upgrade hell", uninstall L8 totally and go with the new L9. Any responses or advice? Thanks
