Hi Rounik, Yes I did check out the demos and I am interested but I also looked for product reviews relative to the product and Logic. Seems there's a bit of a challenge in setting up the environment for using SD. Any plans on creating a tutorial on EZD & SD?

Hello All, I recently upgraded to L9 after moving up to the latest MBP (up from 10.4.11). Just love these new learning curves... Can someone please explain a simple workflow concerning what used to be known in L8 as "capture last take"? It used to be so simple! I'm playing back a simple 4 bar apple loop of some acoustic guitar plucking and am trying to add just a few notes during cycle playback. Its a MIDI loop, but after activating "capture last take", I see my new notes in a separate take region, as if I'm working with Take Folders and audio. All I want to do is paste/merge these new notes into the same region like you could in L8. I've done searches online for "capture last take Logic 9", and have even called Apple Tech Support but it sounded like the tech I was talking to was making it more complicated than it should be, at least how it was in L8. Am I missing something here? Surely Logic wouldn't have done away with something as simple and useful as that function! Can someone please help me out? Thanks. Soundwriter

Hi Rounik, Thanks for responding. Perhaps I should've mentioned I already went to the Recording tab and selected "merge with selected region" but its still not letting me merge the new take with the original region; it just replaces it altogether only with the new notes. I have the 101 tutorial but can't play it yet on the new Mac (another story)... but from what I recall, didn't it deal mainly with take folders relative to audio? Im dealing with a midi region and the menus are a little different from audio. Anyway, maybe the problem is I don’t clearly understand what the options in the Record tab mean. If all I want to do is merge/paste/fuse/combine (or whatever the proper terminology is) my additional notes to what was already existing in the particular region I'm dealing with, in a manner that closest resembles how it was done in L8 "Capture Last Take", which option under the Record tab should I use? Hi Rounik, Thanks for responding. I originally was inquiring about using the APC40 or the Oxygen 49 and then edited my message just for the Oxygen 49 to keep things simple... I guess I forgot to change the subject line, sorry for any confusion to the readers... Anyway, I'd already tried what you suggested and have no problem getting one single knob or fader to work. The problem is on the mixer page in Logic, trying to control more than one knob or fader. After Logic "learns" one fader, when I go to the next fader it learns that one and "forgets" the first one. It does the same thing on my Oxygen 8 also, so it gotta be something I'm not doing in Logic. I haven't been able to find a step-by-step procedure for this in the online manual or on You Tube. Am I leaving something out in the process? - Nathan

Hey O, Thanks so much for responding. Still not able to get this solved though. Tried following your steps but there must be some steps missing cause the Quick Access window won't let me click "Edit" at the bottom. The edit tab is faded like I'm not supposed to click it, whatever that's about. If you're real familiar with this, no matter what external controller you're using, would it be possible to contact you offline? I'm not trying to do anything extensive, just would like to save time by being able to use more than just one fader at a time on the mixer window, using Oxygen 49 or the APC40. Help!! I accidentally deleted a mastering preset from the output strip ("Soft Enhancer"). I tried to "undo" but it's no longer listed in the output strip presets menu. In opening previously saved versions of the same project I see the output strip has the "Soft Enhancer" settings loaded in, and it even lists "Soft Enhancer in the presets title box on the output strip, but that setting is no longer listed in the output presets menu. Question: is there a way I can restore the preset "Soft Enhancer" back into the Preset Menu on the output strip? Thanks for any assistance, Nathan
