Apologies if this has already been discussed. Has anyone had problems with missing GarageBand loops after installing Logic Studio??? The first Logic 7 project I loaded up into Logic 8 was missing a few instruments, so I did a bit of 'googling' and found others experiencing this issue also. One tip I came across was to launch GarageBand 08 and see if the loops were missing there also, and if so, to click on a grayed-out loop in GB's Loop Browser and follow the prompts to re-install them. I popped in the iLife 08 installer, and this fixed the problem for GarageBand 08, and also appears to have fixed it for my Logic project. However, I now have some duplicate loops in the "GarageBand" list of loops in Logic 8's Loop Browser. Could someone please tell me if there's an easy way to get rid of these duplicates? And, if this is possible, what is the best way to determine which duplicates to delete so that GarageBand's library isn't affected. TIA for any advice.

Hi Mo, You're not alone with these problems. I am experiencing exactly the same thing ... right down to Tutorials 1-9 no longer being playable also! Hope we hear of a fix soon. B.

The actual chapter files (1-9) are still on my hard drive fortunately, so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue to get them playable again. Are these problems only happening with NED on Windows, or is it happening with the Mac version also? B.

As NED downloaded the first 68 chapters all over again, has the content of these earlier chapters changed, or did it have to re-download them to fix whatever the problem was? Thanks, B.

I have the same problem here too. 137 to 157 only appear in RED. Whenever I launch NED, it tells me "The previous tutorial update was not completed. Do you want to resume the update?" I hit Yes, Logic 8 101.prgm.zip starts to download, then the download side of the page goes completely blank! I notice the above messages were posted about 3 days ago. Has this issue been resolved for you yet, and if so, could you please let me know the solution? Thanks in advance. EDIT: I hadn't noticed before, but 1-9, despite being in BLACK, are 00:00 in duration as well.

Hi Gosia Thanks for your reply. Your instructions unfortunately cause NED to want to re-download EVERYTHING(!) all over again! I'm only on a 128kbps ISDN connection here - re-downloading ALL the chapters again is no small task for me! Numbers 1-136 are still in my Logic 8 101 Video folder, yet 1-9 in NED show no duration and do not play. 10-136 all play fine, and 137-157 still need to be downloaded. Surely there's a way for me to not have to re-download 1-136 all over again??? I had to do this when the last round of chapters were added. There's got to be a better system than this! Please tell me there's a way I can get 1-9 viewable again, and how I can add 137-157 to my currently working chapters without having to download everything in-between again. Thanks again for your help.

Hi Martin What I do when a new OS or upgrade comes out is use SuperDuper to clone my current system to a new partition or drive, and try the upgrade or new OS out on that first. If things go terribly wrong, I've still got my original system to go back to. :)
