    LE 7 Environment Metronome
Hi. I'm using Logic Express 7 and have started working with the environment vd and have found that the module on the plain vanilla env doesn't match my software as it pertains to the metronome. When I create an audio object and assign Instrument 64 to it, the klopfgeist shows up, but the channel strip shows no signal and the fader has no effect on it's volume. When I click on the klop instrument, changing the klops presets has no effect on the sound I hear from the metronome. Am I able to manipulate my metronome sound as Martin does on Logic Pro or not? Thanks!

You should be albe to! Make sure the sequencer is runing (start playback) and the "Metronome Button" in the transport is enabled. Does that help? You could also play the metronome itself by targeting Track 64 from an arrange window track. Does it make sound now? The metronome is really just a simple software instrument, and as far as I know, one of the FIRST software insturments, because it's been around for a while now ...

Thanks Martin for replying so quickly. I'm not having trouble hearing the metronome. My problem is that I can't adjjust the sound as you demonstrate in the tutorial. When I assign Instrument 64 to the audio object I've created in the Environment, the klopfgeist does show up, and I do hear it ticking away during playback. But it's like the sound is coming from somewhere besides my audio object channel strip because the fader doesn't turn it up or down, and changing the presets on the Klop doesn't alter the click sound. Since I'm working my way thru the tutorial step by step, I don't yet know how to target track 64 from the arrange window, and all I've got there is a bunch speaker icons with red Xes on 'em. But again, I can already hear the metronome. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi again Martin I/ve found that by cabling my Midi click object into the audio object and unchecking the "Play Metronome thru built in speakers" box I get a controllable Metronome sound. Am I going to run into weird recording problems with this approach?

Never mind. I found a checkbox in the Metronome dialog that enables the klopfgeist sound. When I checked it, I had access to the controls you were demonstrating in the ttutorial without the extra cabling.
