Need help on how to create (Freq Shifter, Formant Shifter, Ring Modulator) via the Gird
Greetings, Does some one knows how to create a (Frequency Shifter, Formant Shifter, Ring Modulator) patch using the Grid. Indeed BWS doesn't has any presets for those 3 effects created inside the Grid. I tried a couple of ways in order to mimic those effects but the results aren't good. Actually I searched around the web but there isn't any deep explanation on how those effects usually work. Thanks,

Hi - Apparently Bitwig does include frequency shifter and ring modulator FX, but I assume you're looking to learn how to build your own in the Grid, rather than just use those preset devices.. I'm not sure if you saw the other thread, but I attached a link to a course on the Grid (attached here as well). I'm not a Bitwig user so I can't offer any specific advice on using the Grid, but maybe there'll be something helpful in the course, or perhaps an experienced Bitwig user/guru will weigh in..

Yes I was looking for building my own devices mentioned above from scratch. I'm not sure if the Bitwig courses includes those topics. are those courses for free? It seems I cannot get any answer in here I'm assuming this forum is dedicated to courses only. I'm looking for sound design forum. Assuming that those devices are pretty simple to understand, but unfortunately I don't have the knowledge for the details. I'm still searching on how to create them & created some simple patches but they doesn't sound like those devices.

A little searching seems to suggest that some of those devices may actually be fairly complex to design from scratch [I'd imagine a Ring Modulator might be relatively easy to design if the component parts are available in the Grid, but the others might be more complicated].. I searched 'how to design a - - -' and 'how to design audio modulation effects', and and those searches did turn up a few sites that sometimes described the inner workings of those effects [although some were technical papers and others focused on designing effects with hardware circuitry or programming them from code]. If there isn't a lot out there on designing those kinds of effects in Bitwig's Grid in particular, maybe you can find enough general information about how those effects work and then determine if the Grid has the kind of components needed.. The attached course seems to focus mostly on synth design, but I found this support page on the Bitwig site that seems to include at least some tutorials on modulation and pitch-shifting applications in the Gird -- maybe something in there of use..? https://www.bitwig.com/learnings/modular-concepts-lets-build-an-everything-42/

Thanks Joe A for your kind information, I also found some results from google images that describes the diagrams mostly from hardware units perspective only. so I tried to follow the same diagram To apply it in Bitwig but it didn’t work. there aren’t any patches Created via software & hardware diagram has different echo system than software. I knowledge that frequency shifter is shifting the harmonics by Hz amount which will affect them To sound inharmonic (non related). I tried to make things simple by starting with a pure sine wave plus adding some harmonics via Additive synth & apply the frequency shifting to shift the harmonics while analyzing the waveshape. But still can’t understand whats going on. I feel that there are parallel processings with 2 separate signals that causes the phase fx when shifting starts. but I can’t replicate the details.
