In this maiden episode, Brooklyn based singer-songwriter Lauren Balthrop and Ben Arthur collaborate on composing a song. Next, they jump aboard the NYC subway and head down to the multi-million dollar Dubway studios in Lower Manhattan where their goal is to arrange, track, and mix the newborn song in a one-day music marathon. We pick up their story at Dubway where they meet up with studio owners and producers Al Houghton and Mike Crehore to begin their nonstop musical adventure.

Watch them as they work together, nurturing the song to life from dawn to dusk, tracking keyboards, bass, drums, guitars and vocals. Really can't understand why so much people are rating this course high. In my opinion, the production and songwriting process on the video was ok, good explanation, but, common, we're talking about audio production here, there's chapter on the video talking about mix things and we're hearing the camera microphone, it's so bad sound that I can't believe it was done. How can we hear that 10k details on a SSL G Channel plug-in, and hear the differences it's making, if we hearing it from a camera mic? It's so bad. It would be a really good video if we are hearing the audio coming directly from Pro Tools, or the desk, or the Avalon mic prÃ©s on tracking. The guys missed the chance to have a really good product here. This is kinda like talking about 4k video seeing the videos from a vga camera. Sorry.

Great video, great tips and insights. Like the fact it was short so you can watch the whole thing without interruption. Hope more would come on these series covering other genres as hard rock, electronica, R & B, jazz/fusion etc. Maybe something similar could be done using Logic or Cubase as DAW? Just a suggestion...
