Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard for photo editors, but it can also be a useful tool for video editors as well. A new course by video editor Kevin P McAuliffe -- Photoshop For Video Editors -- shows how to integrate Photoshop in a video editing workflow.
Video editors often need to work with logos, vector files, and other still images, which often need to be edited before they can be imported into nonlinear video editing software. This new course covers all the essential Photoshop workflows needed to prepare images for use in video projects. The course starts off by going over the different file formats supported by Photoshop. Then there's a tour of the user interface and all the important tools. Next up are tips to correctly format and resize logos, and how to properly handle vector files without losing quality.
The course shows how to isolate elements in flattened images with the Magic Wand, and explains why it's better to work with text in Photoshop rather than in the NLE app. There's a close look at creating lower-third title graphics, how to add effects to layers, how to group elements, and more. And finally, the course shows how to import layered Photoshop files into Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and Apple's Final Cut Pro X.
So if you're a video editor whose work also involves still images, logos, and vector files, check out this new course, and see how Photoshop CC can improve your video editing workflow!
