GarageBand and Logic Remote not working

I have the Logic Remote app on my Ipad 2 and have Garageband on my MacBook Pro with Mavericks OS and I'm unable to get them to connect and I have them both on the same WiFi connection. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Thanks!

Actually with the new version of garageband it is supposed to work

Yes GarageBand is listed as working with Logic Remote. I did read a few reviews of LR and users were complaining about it not working with either Logic Pro X or GarageBand

I am having the same problems with the download version. The tutorial is really good though just needs the missing audio.
