Hey there guys Im New to producing I'm really trying to get better at creating beats (instrumentals) my main goal though is learning how to Sample. How do people sample something lets say like from the 50's that is pretty much really hard to find some sheet music for. I'm trying to replay what ever it is that they played. Also for example the producer Pretty Lights when he samples a vocal from a song how does he take out all the instruments from the original and just keep the vocals. also when people sample instead of just chopping up the original piece of audio and just looping it. i rather replay it myself so that way i don't have leakage from other instruments. and just overall have better control of the sonic space in my mix. If you guys have any tips or techniques on sampling it would be greatly appreciated. by the way I'm using native instruments maschine and protools. if you guys know anything on logic its good too but I'm not that familiar with it so i would much rather prefer maschine or protools. Hi Guys, was wondering if any one can recommend me a good USB Hub for my macbook pro. Im using a midi keyboard, machine, external hard drive, and a usb M-Audio Interface all running on protools. but i only have two usb ports and since protools now requires an iLok, Ive used up another usb port!!!! i want to get a usb hub but I'm afraid that it might cause latency or kill my sound. Ohh Also in the future i plan on getting more equipment so i need something that can withstand more than what i already have. Thank you Your Responses will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Macbook pro and I don't want to use up any of the gigs on my internal Hard drive. So instead I want to build my whole track collection, playlist, remix set, etc on an External Hard drive. Can someone please explain to me step by step how to run my entire music library on traktor from an external hard drive. and also my iTunes library off an external just because i think its a lot easier to organize my playlist there than import it to traktor track collection. Unless some one knows an easier way to organize music on traktor. Also is there any external hard drives in particular that you guys recommend? Also when connecting the external does it matter if i use usb or firewire?I ask that just because I want prevent any type of lag during playback. Looking forward to your guys feedback. Thank you

If theres not a way for machine to do it alone, Then can someone please explain to me how to import midi into machine using pro tools? Im am trying to open Maschine as a Plug in PRO TOOLS but I don't want to use the machine Sequencer AT ALL! i want all my sequencing done in Pro tools. For example I want to chop up samples in machine and then record my permanence in pro tools. i Also want to record drums from machine and route each drum to a separate channel in Pro tools for individual mixing. also want to be using my machine Controller for this. But i have no idea how to set this up. PLEASE HELP

How can I set up Maschine as a regular Midi Controller. I want pro tools to recognize it as Midi controller. Pretty much like my My midi key rig 49 keyboard.
