Hey J-F, I for one have certainly learned a lot from this thread. Thanks for all the effort you've put in. I'd previously given up on Beat Mapping, but now feel inspired to slog through it. It should be a fantastic tool for people like me who record and play instruments sometimes a little too "rubato". I now just need to make friends with the technology. Hi Steve, Maybe it's too obvious for most people, but I'd love to get some tips on accurately editing audio files. What I mean is cutting and re-aligning slightly (or even horribly) out of time guitar/bass/drum parts so that they all groove together. Maybe there are some rules of thumb about the positioning of the attack part of a guitar before it hits its peak (eg, is it best to place the peak on the beat or the beginning of the attack) etc. Also finding the best place to cut in guitar parts can sometimes be a frustrating trial and error experience if there are no obvious gaps or transitions. Love the sidechain tutorial, by the way - amazingly clear and understandable. Cheers, Lord Scrotum

Hi, I too am experiencing weirdness with fades. Crossfades, for example,work but are no longer shown at the crossfade point. Instead they show up about a bar further back (which can be confusing). Additionaly, I'm getting an error message when I insert fade ins and outs. (Not at home at the mo, so can't say what message it is.) The fades work but I have to click a couple of times on a box which blatthers on about permissions. I never had this problem with logic pro 6 (I upgraded to 7 just before 8 came out,doh!). Would also be very grateful if somebody could say why this is happenig. Cheers Lord Scrotum

Hi, I'm a big fan of TnT and MacProVideo in general but have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the current offering. I can see that it's excellent for users of Spectrasonics Stylus, but this is "Logic" TnT. Given that SS doesn't come with Logic (it costs upwards of 229€), it seems inappropriate to feature it so extensively. Back to Logic, please! Lord Scrotum

I also wanted to stress again that I'm really very happy with TnT - I've learned some fantastic stuff over the last year or so and will definitely be subscribing to next year's. Hi everybody, Does anybody know of a simple way I can re-route my "Out 1-2" to "Out 3-4" etc? I generally use the 1/2 outs as default but have my soundcard's other outputs rigged to different speakers and amps, so I can check the mix against a variety of sounds. Maybe I'm fooling myself, but wasn't it possible in Logic 7 through an I/O button to simply re-route to any output? I don't want to have to select all channel strips and re-route that way, because then I'd have all sorts of problems with busses and creeping forgetfulness. Hopefully I'm just overlooking something really obvious. Thanks a lot in advance Lord Scrotum

Hi, Just discovered a solution myself. By playing with my Presonus Firebox software, I was able to reroute everything coming from Out 1-2 to Out 5-6. All the same an "In-Logic" solution would be welcome. Cheers! Lord Scrotum

Hi Rounik, Thanks for the answer. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean. I've got all my tracks routed to either Out 1-2 or busses which are then routed to Out 1-2. The final Out 1-2 channel strip (usually next to the Master strip or other Outs in the Mixer) doesn't allow for any routing options because there are no I/O buttons I know that on the normal channel strips you can click and select your I/0s, but I don't want to change all the channel strips' outputs just to do a quick reference check on different speakers. I'd imagined something like routing Out 1-2 to Out 3/4 (which is what the Presonus Mixer/Router software allows me to do), which'd mean only having to click one button and thereby avoid confusion. Hi Rounik, Thanks for the quick answer. The template idea appeals to me. I'll give it a try this week. As I said, with the Presonus soundcard, it's all very easy. Just surprises me that Logic 8 doesn't make it that easy. I need to boot up Logic 7 to check that I'm not kidding myself that it had in fact an I/O or bus section on the output strips.
