I'm considering getting a Mac Mini (2014) 2.8ghz i5 / 8gb RAM / 1tb fusion drive. Would this be enough to run LPX smoothly? Thanks for the help!

Hi, I'm brand new to macprovideo and brand new to Reason. Basically a noob. I've been watching the tutorials and am up to Reason 6 203: The Echo. I have been avidly watching and enjoying each of the tutorials and 203 is no different. However, I am a bit bewildered by the cable routing. Question: are there previous tutorials (perhaps in earlier versions of Reason) or can anyone suggest other places to look (youtube, books, etc) to get a good grasp of routing cables or otherwise. (The old in and out :o)) But overall I'm very impressed with the tutorials offered. I appreciate the help. Thanks!

Hello. When can we expect tutorials on Reason 6.5 and Rack Extensions to be out?

Hi, can anyone tell me if recording in 'comp' mode with loop function is possible with Reason instruments like ID8, Thor, Subtractor, etc..?? I've done it with a regular audio track with my guitar, but for the life of me can't seem to get the same thing to work with Reason's instruments. Is it a matter of creative routing? I've gone through a ton of tutorials here and can't seem to find a clear answer even in the gigantic user manual. Any help with this would be very welcomed! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Gary, I got the following piece of advice from someone in the Reason user forum. I'll pass it on for anyone who might need the info in the future: "On the mix channel of the instrument, under the meter, click the "Rec Source" button. Then choose the correct input on the audio track that your using for recording. Then record as usual." It takes a few extra steps but does just fine as a workaround. Thanks again.

I love macpro (and i'm a big fan of your tutorials Hollin), but how, for instance, is the Reason 7 tutorial "Twisted Sound Design" any different from the Reason 6 tutorial "Twisted Sound Design"? It just makes it seem like there are new Reason 7 tutorials when there really isn't. At least not all of them anyway. It's a little unseemly.

Hi, It's great to see music theory being done here. Much appreciated. What would be a great compliment would be a course teaching musical notation. I would be all over that. But, overall, macProVideo is a great place to do some serious learning. Thanks!
