In starting to work with the roundtrip features of Final Cut Pro 7 and Soundtrack Pro 3 (after watching Martin's v. 2 tutorial and reading the manuals), I've managed to send a clip from FCPro to a Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project, make some changes, and send it back to FCPro. I've got a bunch of video clips that need some compression, EQ and a touch of reverb, and it took a while to figure out that apparently one needs to select "Render to Action" from STPro's Process menu before saving, for the clip that shows up in FCPro to have reverb, compression or other effects (unless there's another way to do it). Okay. But now my problem is: I'd like to tweak half a dozen FCPro clips with exactly the same effects settings. It seems like I should be able to select "Save as Applescript" to create a script with those settings; I should then be able to send a clip to that Soundtrack Pro script from within Final Cut Pro, or use the script as a droplet. Well, I've created a number of scripts in SoundTrack Pro after applying my effects -- and made some other scripts with obvious effects like pitch shifting. But whatever I try, when I apply these scripts to other clips, it seems that the effects are never there. Is it possible to create a script that includes these effects? What am I missing here?
(One issue appears to be that Render to Action deletes and resets the effects, so I've tried "saving as Applescript" before, and after, that step. But whatever I do, nothing works to give me a script that will apply effects. If I can't get a script to work and rendering deletes the setting, will I have to separately edit each clip in Soundtrack Pro, reworking the effects settings each time?)
