Hi Steve, I have been loving your tutorial videos, and now have most of the logic ones. While I know you have already covered the multipressor in the Plugins video, I was hoping that you might cover the Logic 8 version in TNT. I think that the interface is different enough to warrent an other look. Also I would love to see a tutorial on the ring shifter, and would like to know where it got its name. Thanks Darren

Hi I was wondering if you could follow up Olav's fantastic tutorial on mixing electronica with something along the lines of arranging a Funk track (Or pop, or a ballad...). I would love to learn how basic stiles of music are arranged. For example I now know that electronic dance music is laid out in 8, 16 & 32 bar patterns. Thanks Darren

Hi there, Yes I can see from the thread above that there are a lot of people after a mixing tutorial for other Genres of music, and that would be great. What I was really getting at though was more of a tutorial on arrangement. While I'll agree that this is bordering on music theory, I think that it will be a hit amongst beginners like me. I'd love to see how a funk, pop or rap song is arranged and any particular rules that apply to those genres. Thanks Darren

Hi, This is going to make me sound like an idiot, but I'm having problems adjusting the voice volume sliders in Ultrabeat. I've tried clicking all over the thing but three times out of four, when I drag the voice name comes away with the mouse. Is there a way to lock the voices in place, or a magic spot on those blue sliders to click? Thanks Darren

Yes the mixing R&B video is excellent. In it David uses some very expensive plugins. Is it possible to get the same results with the native Logic plugins or cheeper equivalents? Thanks Darren

Hi, I was having problems with getting a good strong kick drum sound to cut through the mix. I was told to use bucket loads of compression, but this just made things muddy. My solution was to: Use three instances of UltraBeat with the same settings. Send the kick for each to it's own AUX channel. I set one up with compression and EQ, One with just EQ and one with no plugins. I bypassed the compressor and limiter on the output channel Turned down all the faders on the other instruments and then adjusted the three kick Aux faders until the combined output peaked just under 0dB. I then brought the other instruments up again and when all was set I turned on the output compressor and Limiter again. I hope this helps.

Hi I usually use a threshhold of -9, gain of 0 and a ratio of 2:1 to start with and then tweak the settings until I like the sound. But I'm a beginner and maybe not the best person to follow yet. As for using MPC 1000 files in Ultrabeat I wouldn't know. I know you can import wav and aiff samples.
