    Korg Kronos
Evening! I'm looking to use a second keyboard linked to my Kronos. I understand from your advanced Korg Kronos tutorial that this is possible. I have linked my keyboards using the usb ports on each keyboard. I can get both keyboards producing the same sounds - good start!. From there things don't go so well. If I leave channel 1 on piano and put organ on channel 2, then change the global midi channel to 2. I get piano and organ on one keyboard and piano only on the other. I want to be able to get piano on one and organ on the other etc. It seems there is a way to do this, I just cannot get it - is there anyone out there who can help please.

I've linked this thread to the course you mentioned, hopefully another Kronos user/guru will notice it and have some advice to offer. I don't have a Kronos to investigate, but quite a few questions come to mind about your description of what you're doing and what you're trying to do -- if a Kronos user responds I'd imagine they'd need to know more about your setup.. - Are you talking about two Kronos keyboards, or a Kronos and another model of keyboard? If it's the latter, then the MIDI functions of that keyboard would come into play as well and you'd have to name it for anyone to troubleshoot. If it's two Kronos, which are are you referring to when you say set the Global MIDI channel to 2? - How are the two keyboards set up -- what modes, etc [i.e. Program mode, Combi mode]..? It seems to me that that would make a big difference in how any MIDI communication would work.. - Why change the Global MIDI channel to channel 2? - Why two keyboards? Are you layering the sounds from the 2 keyboards? I assume that could be done in Combi mode from a single keyboard, so I'm guessing you must be playing a different sound on each keyboard [one hand on keyboard 1 and one hand on keyboard 2] or playing the keyboards alternatively? But if you're not layering sounds why would the keyboards need to be linked at all? Or is just to be able to change programs on both keyboards at the same time from one keyboard?
