Logic - Omnisphere Sample Timing when Harmonized
Hey there...no idea if I'm in the right place for this. Logic has a great function with it's sampler where you can click a button, and then the sample you are playing will play out with the original timing regardless of the note you play (as opposed to higher notes playing more quickly and lower notes playing slowly). Is there the equivalent function in Omnisphere? I use it as a plugin, and I've been playing around with the Harmonium function, but the layers of the sample all play at different speeds, depending on how high or how low the note is. It sounds like a mess and I'd love to make them harmonize with their original timing. If anyone knows how to do this, I'd appreciate your feedback!

Hi - If you're taking about Logic 10.5+ that would be the Flex (time-shift) function in the new Logic Sampler & Quick Sampler. I don't think Omnisphere is designed to do that in such a straightforward way, though apparently there is a granular effect in there. Granular synthesis is the underlying technology behind time-shifting, although in Omnisphere it seems to be designed primarily as a special effect, so you might not (probably won't) get simple, clean time-shifting out of it. However, here's a link to the relevant Omnisphere Help page.. https://support.spectrasonics.net/manual/Omnisphere2/25/en/topic/layer-page-oscillator-page29?q=granular I've attached a video from one of our Omnisphere courses (below) -- maybe something in there will be helpful, or maybe an Omnisphere guru will be able to offer a suggestion. Of course you could try importing the sound from Omnisphere into Logic's Sampler or Quick Sampler and doing it there -- Logic 10.5 makes importing sampled sounds & instruments especially easy, thanks to new intelligent import features and the inclusion of the Auto Sampler plug-in.
