EMU's Emulator was one of the original samplers to hit the music industry back in the 80's. It's 8-bit sound was pretty lo-fi by today;s standards, but at the time playing real sounds from a keyboard was revolutionary, and those same lo-fi sounds are still popular today.
Adding to their collection of modeled classic synths & keyboards, Arturia has taken on the Emulator II, and Nigel Broad's new course "Arturia Emulator II Explored" covers the ins & outs of this comprehensive recreation. The course starts off with a little history & background on the original Emulator II instrument, following that with an overview of the user interface and the preset browser. All of the front panel features are explained and demonstrated: Filter, LFO, VCA, Arpeggiator, etc. And then the course digs deep into the advanced panel and reveals how to get under the surface and master the true sampling power of the instrument.
For anyone who's either nostalgic for or just interested in the vintage sampled sounds of the 80's, this course should help them navigate the ins & outs of Arturia's version of this classic EMU sampler.
