    Mastering Tips
Mastering has always been the mysterious "black art" of the audio industry, its secrets guarded by the elite ranks of mastering engineers. But in his new video "Daniel Wyatt's Mastering Tips", Daniel Wyatt draws back the curtain and sheds light on the dark art of mastering! Based on his 20+ years of experience as a mastering engineer, Daniel shares his insights on the practice, covering bus processing, EQ, compression, & limiting—the staples of mastering—loudness considerations, technical issues, M-S processing, the use of reference tracks, working with stems, and the question of mastering yourself vs working with a dedicated mastering engineer. For anyone who wants to really get a handle on the final process of audio production, this course is a must-see!

Mastering should be minimalistic. The mix is the most important.

    Re: Mastering Tips
Mastering should not drastically alter a mix, but the subtle processing added in mastering can help a good mix sound just a little better [fuller, more present], if applied by an experienced mastering engineer with a good ear for small detail.
