Hi Martin, Hope all is well and life is being good to you. Here's a tricky one for you... or maybe not... Have opened a Song from L 7 with L 8 and the 2 Main Instrument Files are 'Missing'... according to the EXS... I still have the Original Sampler Instruments & Samples Folders, on my External Hard Drive (Back Up, Back Up, Back Up...) How do I get them into Logic 8 in a format/extension it can recognise ? The ones in question are: BluesHarp.exs and Chimes.exs I think it's the exs part L 8 doesn't like. Have also noticed 'Water Ambiences' are not there... What can you suggest ? Many Thanks Bj

yeah I have the same problem aswell. But with the techno drum kit in exs. Gonna try re-installing L8 and see if that works.

On my system the bluesharp is there and I can load it up with no problem. Did you move any legacy instruments file to your external HD ? If so, it's possible that Logic can't locate the files. If space is an issue, don't forget it's possible to use an alias folder of your samples folder. You can leave the .exs fodler on your main drive because they don't take up much space and move the samples to another drive. The EXS24 samplers instruments (.exs files) are located in Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments. The actual samples are in Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples. On my system, all the Legacy Instruments .exs files are in : Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments/12 Legacy Instruments. The legacy samples are in : Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples/10 Legacy Instruments By the way, in my bluesharp folder, I have 39 .aif files. You can check if any are missing. The techno drum is also working fine for me. This preset uses samples located in : Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files/Headbanger Kit

Thanks Christian, Went to: Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments/12 Legacy Instruments. and there are only 2 folders: 05 Horns & Woodwinds and 08 Drum Kits. Went to: Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples/10 Legacy Instruments and there are only 9 folders... No 10 Legacy Instruments... Logic 8 was installed clean and for the first time on a Bran New iMac 24' 2.16GHz intel and nothing has been moved. I would like to avoid reinstalling. What can you suggest? Ta Bj

Hi Everyone, The 'Missing' Files have been found. All 2 gig of them... I popped the Logic Install disc in & ticked the Legacy Instruments box and then hit install... Don't know why it was unticked in the first place. If only life was always that easy. Bj
