I've updated Logic pro a few times over the last couple of years and I currently have the latest version. I assumed that when updating, older versions would be overwritten on the drive. I recently noticed that in my applications folder I have 4 versions of Logic.app ranging back to Logic 8 and different versions of Mainstage. Is it safe to delete all but the latest version? Is there a utility that can sort this automatically and recover disk space? I have an Intel MacBook Pro - OS 10.6.2 and Logic Pro 9.1

Hi Bob, If you are sure you don't need to use the previous versions of Logic, e.g. version 8, 9.0, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 then by all means do delete them. This is a safety measure by Apple - so that if for some reason you need or want to switch back to using an earlier version of Logic, you will not need to reinstall the entire application from DVD again. I personally keep backups for these versions on a separate external hard drive... but the best way to remove them from your system is simply to pop them into the Trash and empty the trash. :) Rounik
