solo buttons/ arrange and track mixer
I recently put down a basic rhythm track, and 1 vocal track, but when I play them back, and hit the vocal solo button in the track mixer, all the instruments seem to be playing on that track. But if i solo the vocal in the arrange, thats all you hear......as it should be Anyone know why I'm getting everything in the track mixer solo ?? Braden

It could be becase the solo in the Arrange window is a "track solo" button that just solos that individual track, while the solo on the Mixer window is for the track channel itself. The reasoning is because you may have situations (for example multiple vocal takes) that you want to play through the same track channel so you can use the same effects set-up and etc. ... in this case, you would solo just the track in the arrange window, and not the track channel. At any rate, you don't want to have multiple tracks in the arrange window playing through the same track channel!! You should switch that!

Yes, it's important to remember that in Logic, tracks and channels are independent. When you "create" a track it actually gives you another track playing throught the same channel as the previous track. If you create a track with "next instrument" (it really should say "next channel") then it gives you a fresh channel. In a nutshell, it's entirely possible to have multiple tracks playing through the same channel!
