Mathew is one of the best I ever heard; I am using Cubase 8 Pro for over a year and very coincidently happened to find one of his courses on YT but in a few hours today I learned more than in the past year. It is amazing what he knows about Cubase and how he is abe to explain this...never find such a guy...So Math really my compliments for your excellent job! You are the reason that I took a subscription on the Macpro material.

I'm in the process of migrating from Logic to Cubase and this tutorial, even though it's for version 7, gave me very solid understanding of the basics. Thank you!

Just finished this amazing course. Not having too much experience with Cubase, this course has given me a heap of great startup knowledge/tips/tricks to use forward on. The enthusiasm Matthew shares in the course, gives me much of the same feeling I get when I read a good book. You can't stop - just want to hear more. Thank you Mathew for a great learning experience, and thank you MPV for choosing Matthew to do this. I am looking forward to go trough the rest of the courses I already bought.

I started using Cubase back in 1999, but I have been upgrading and plugging away with this software ever since. I never have had such a thorough and digestible tutorial as this! I wish that I had this course years ago, because I feel like I have just stepped light years ahead on Cubase. Finally, I never went to a professional audio engineering school, but with just this course alone, I have already picked up a great deal more of trips and very important reminders on the music production process that applies to any music studio.

Thank you once again MPV for a tutorial that was extremely informative, and very easy to understand. Mathew is an excellent teacher, very clear and concise, with a great sense of humor to boot. The quality of all your tutorials is outstanding, and this course in particular has given me great confidence in using Cubase. Keep up the good work and I'll keep learning.

Another great course from AskVideo and MacProVideo. Matthew Hepworth is a fantastic tutor, he explains everything clearly and concisely and leads you through each tutorial with clear learning targets.
Bring on the next course!

I've tried out Cubase video tutorials in the past and they've been worthy but dull. This one is different, despite covering all the same ground as the others I've seen. The difference is down to the narrator, Matthew Loel T. Hepworth. He has a wonderful, breakneck style of getting into the detail, rarely leaving dead-air and racing from one point to the next. His enthusiasm is infectious, but he's also thorough without packing the topics out with 'filler.'
All the necessary points are covered, and there are a lot of them. If you have earlier tutorials you'll find much of the same topics covered in this one with a slant on the new Cubase 7 features. All the same, the fast-paced and enthusiastic delivery makes this the best general explanation of Cubase so far. To get from the beginning to the end without losing the will to live is a first for me from a Cubase tutorial!
The only big criticism I can level is that the tutorial is recorded out at low resolution, so often the screen looks squashed up or important graphical details are missed. This is down to the format demanded for online viewing, but it compromises too much on detail and makes the tutorial harder to follow. Something really needs to be done about this - its a big problem. But this is a fault of the format, not the tutorial itself.
Otherwise highly recommended.

I've used Cubase almost since the beginning of the program, but could still learn a thing or two and that's an understatement!

Great overview of some basic but useful mastering techniques. In the space of 15 minutes some core concepts like compression (multiband), limiting and maximising are shown.

Fantastic course. Perfect for new users. Really enjoyed him taking the time to go beyond just showing the program and into tips for mixing and mastering. Highly recommend it.
