All of Olav's courses on MacProVideo are valuable and there are insights through each & every one (I have watched them all). But, this is probably his best course as it lays out key & subtle differences between the most popular styles of electronic dance music. A must watch for anyone looking to understand and produce EDM music.

This is a nice little overview of some electronic music styles. Its not too long, and not too in depth.

I found this course to be an accurate description of the different styles of dance music. It was nice to see them broken down and all of the details explained with a little history thrown in.

This really is a nice and interesting overview about some of the most popular dance music styles.
I learned a lot about the typical elements and structures of these styles and as well also some interesting things about their history.
Personally I missed one specific style: Drum & Bass.
Anyway: thanks a lot for this very interesting course.

I really like his tutorials. This time he gives also a small historical overview of the different music genres. Actually the trance and edm tracks are really sounding cool. He really tries to concentrate on the main differences and necessary elements in a track. Thumbs up want more :)

This is a fun little course, perfect to watch between long 4-hour marathons. It's more like a short documentary quickly illustrating various styles of dance music. Basoski deeply understands the aesthetics of various genres and gets his points across in an informative, yet entertaining way - being the veteran MPV trainer that he is.
