    Using a pseudo name
Hi Paul, Thanks for your courses. They are really great! I have my own DBA... So this is an example: I, Martin King, wrote the song "blue day". But I prefer using a pseudo name "IMK" as the artist name as an example. How does this name get official? Or how does "IMK" get treated legally? Does it get complicated with pseudo names? Amara

    Re: Using a pseudo name
As long as the publisher (or business in work for hire) has clear records of who the composer is, everything is fine. If you have a DBA then you know that checks made out to IMK Inc or whatever get cashed and deposited just fine. You said you have a DBA - you filed right? Usually at the court house or hall of records for the county. If so, its official. If you want no one else in the state to use the name, then you have to go to the state records office, and nationwide would be something much larger. Am I answering your question?
